Job summary

Desert Care Network is seeking a dedicated CNA for Hi-Desert Continuing Care Center in Joshua Tree, CA. The role provides basic nursing care under supervision, with a 12-hour shift, days, and every other weekend. A sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 is available based on experience.

  • Provides personal care assistance to residents—bathing, oral care, dressing, eating, transfers.
  • Maintains resident documentation and privacy of data.
  • Attends continuing education courses and participates in in-service meetings.

Shift: Days, 7:00am to 7:30pm, every other weekend is required

Provides basic nursing care to residents, under direct supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Conducts job duties in accordance with established hospital policy and safety/sanitation standards.
  • Obtains and documents patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, SAO2, respiration pulse, pain and weight, and I&O’s.
  • Provides personal care assistance to residents, including bathing, oral care, shaving, dressing, eating, bed pans, and transportation.
  • Maintains resident documentation.
  • Maintains confidentiality of resident and unit care data.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to resident comfort and privacy.
  • Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings as requested. Attends continuing education courses related to area of specialization to remain current in the field.
Qualifications
Physical Demands:
  • Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Lifts, positions and/or transfers residents.
  • Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs).
  • Occasional prolonged standing and walking.
  • Occasionally lift supplies/equipment.
Working Conditions:
  • Contact with residents under a wide variety of circumstances.
  • May be exposed to infections/contagious diseases.
  • Regularly exposed to risk of blood borne diseases.
Minimum Education/Certification/Experience:
  • High School graduate
  • Current CA CNA license
  • CPR Certificate
