Responsibilities

1. Patient Care
   • Assist licensed nursing staff in providing care tailored to patient needs based on condition, development, and age.
   • Participate in implementing the interdisciplinary care plan.
   • Adapt and organize care plans considering patient preferences and routines.
   • Support patient self-care and independence.
   • Recognize and respond to signs of normal and abnormal mental functions and behaviors, especially in cognitively impaired patients.
   • Maintain a safe environment, use infection control procedures, and handle restraints properly.
   • Identify signs of common diseases and communicate findings promptly.
   • Assist with basic nutrition and hydration needs.
   • Respond appropriately to emergencies following established procedures.
   • Complete documentation accurately and timely.
2. Competency
   • Understand and operate within the legal scope of CNA practice.
   • Maintain current certification and perform within the scope of practice.
   • Demonstrate ongoing competency in technical skills through education and clinical experience.
