Job Description

Under the direction of the manager, the CNA/CHHA carries out assigned non-professional programs in personal care, self-help, social training, recreation, cleanliness, and related activities to maintain the physical, mental, emotional health, and well-being of residents. Performs related work as required.

Responsibilities

1. Organize assigned work and develop effective methods.
2. Ensure the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of residents.
3. Develop and implement recreation and activities for residents.
4. Assist residents with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
5. Adhere to policies and procedures, respond calmly in emergencies, and maintain safety standards.
6. Handle minor behavior issues and refer serious cases to supervisors.
7. Greet visitors courteously and respond to inquiries, referring to appropriate staff when necessary.
8. Prepare reports on programs, activities, and residents.
9. Transport residents to various facilities as needed.
10. Maintain accurate records and perform household chores and cleaning as required.
11. Assist or supervise residents with activities of daily living, including mobility, grooming, bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Current certification as a Nurse Aide or Homemaker-Home Health Aide in New Jersey.
