Job summary

PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield, OR is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for our Cardiac Surgery Unit on the Night Shift (0.90 FTE). You will help patients recover safely after cardiac procedures, provide direct care under the RN, and support strong teamwork on a dedicated night crew.

Qualifications

• Oregon CNA certification required.
• BLS certification on hire (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• Ability to provide age-appropriate care across patient populations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
• Support patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting and personal hygiene.
• Assist with walking, repositioning, exercising, and bed mobility.
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and other patient information.
• Observe changes in patient conditions and communicate concerns promptly to the nursing team.
• Assist with treatments and basic care activities within CNA scope.
• Maintain patient comfort, information, and support during recovery.
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly.
• Maintain stocked patient rooms and unit supplies.
• Occasional clerical tasks such as answering phones and processing patient information.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused environment centered on patient care.

Full-Time | 0.90 FTE | Night Shift

Hourly Pay Range: $22.35 - $33.16

The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.

What You'll Do

As a CNA on our Cardiac Surgery Unit, you'll play an important role in helping patients recover safely and comfortably following cardiac procedures.

You will:

• Provide direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
• Support patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Assist patients with walking, repositioning, exercising, and getting in and out of bed safely.
• Monitor and record vital signs, fluid intake and output, and other patient information.
• Observe changes in patient conditions and promptly communicate concerns to the nursing team.
• Assist with treatments and basic care activities within your CNA scope of practice.
• Help patients stay comfortable, informed, and supported throughout their recovery.
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly.
• Maintain stocked patient rooms and unit supplies.
• Provide occasional clerical support, including answering phones and processing patient information.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused environment centered on exceptional patient care.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Oregon Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire, obtained through either American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Demonstrated ability to provide age-appropriate care across patient populations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of CNA experience in an acute care or hospital setting.
• Previous experience caring for post-surgical or cardiac patients.
