Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Acute Care - Medical/Oncology

Join Denver Health as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Acute Care - Medical/Oncology.

We are seeking a motivated CNA to join our team in providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic environment.

Department

9A Med/Surg Telemetry Medicine/Surgical Oncology (9 East): This unit provides advanced care including chemotherapy administration and high-acuity medical protocols, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 and CNA-to-patient ratio of 1:12.

Job Summary

Assist nursing staff in delivering patient care, support activities of daily living, and maintain documentation. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality care.

Essential Functions

• Ensure patient safety and comfort during their stay.
• Assist RN/LPN with care plans and patient needs.
• Follow safety and infection control protocols.
• Obtain and report vital signs and patient conditions.
• Participate actively as part of the care team.
• Transport patients and hospital items as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with discharge planning.

Qualifications

• No High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year of work experience required.
• CNA certification from DORA and BLS certification required.

Skills and Abilities

• Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
• Knowledge of growth and development principles.
• Ability to react calmly in emergencies and operate medical equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; EPIC documentation preferred.

Work Details

Shift varies; full-time (0.9 FTE). Pay range: $20.00 - $25.65/hr.
