Cedarhurst, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA) at our Cedarhurst of Des Peres community.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will assist and provide direction to residents with personal care needs, enabling them to maintain good hygiene, carry out daily activities, stay healthy, and participate in community activities.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Assisting residents with personal care needs such as grooming, hygiene, dressing, and nutrition.
  2. Responding to signal lights, bells, or intercoms to address residents' needs proactively.
  3. Measuring and recording vital signs and food and fluid intake/output as directed.
  4. Transporting residents and assisting with walking, repositioning, and turning.
  5. Changing bed linens, running errands, managing visitors, and answering calls.
  6. Assisting with laundry and housekeeping tasks.
  7. Helping residents to and from dining areas and assisting with meals.
  8. Encouraging participation in activities and engaging with residents.
  9. Listening to and reporting residents' concerns to the care team.
  10. Promoting residents’ physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing, aiming to restore independence when possible.
  11. Understanding and following residents’ Advance Directives and wishes.
  12. Communicating effectively with residents’ families regarding care.
  13. Collaborating with team members, taking direction, and resolving conflicts as needed.
  14. Meeting physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds independently and up to 200 pounds with assistance.
  15. Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited CNA program preferred.
  • One year of CNA experience preferred.
  • CPR or BLS certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in internet browsers, Microsoft Office, EHR systems, and HR systems.
  • Dependability and flexibility in scheduling.
  • Knowledge of senior care laws and care levels.
