Job summary

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Aveanna Healthcare

Compensation

$17.13–$19/hr DOE

Essential Job Functions
  • Perform, assist, evaluate and document medical care, including basic first aid, taking weight and vital signs, catheter and bowel care with I/O monitoring, range‑of‑motion exercises, ambulation, transfer and positioning with wheelchairs and other medical equipment, and preparing meals according to dietary needs.
  • Care for patients’ special conditions and needs within the scope of authorized tasks.
  • Provide hands‑on personal care and simple procedures as part of therapy or nursing services.
  • Perform services ordered by the physician in the plan of care that the aide is permitted to do under state law.
  • Assist patients in maintaining good personal hygiene, including bathing, toileting, grooming, shaving, skin and nail care, oral hygiene, dressing and eating.
  • Maintain and complete all required documentation, such as patient/family records and company records after each visit.
  • Observe and report significant changes in a patient’s condition to the RN Nursing Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate or GED*
  • Current, unrestricted certification or proof of training as required by the state.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with aide care policies and procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR.
Ongoing Education

The Aide must receive at least 12 hours of in‑service training during each 12‑month period.

  • Reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.

  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases.
