Job summary

Tidelands Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for night shift responsibilities in South Carolina. You will participate in nursing care and support services as delegated by licensed staff, ensuring quality patient care across regions where Tidelands Health serves.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, monitoring vital signs, and communicating changes to nurses. Requires CNA certification and BLS, with preference for prior CNA experience.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant - National Nurse Aide Assessment Program required.
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification required.
• State-approved CNA training or military equivalent or fundamentals of nursing study completed.
• Previous nursing assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

A Brief Overview

The nursing assistant participates in the provision of nursing care by performing basic activities of patient care and related support services as delegated by the licensed nurse.

What you will do

• Providing great patient care.
• Answering patient calls and determining how best to help them.
• Providing physical support for patients or residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, - using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
• Turning and repositioning bedridden patients.
• Ensuring patients or residents receive an appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.
• Obtaining a wide range of information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about patient conditions, treatment plans, and suggested activities.
• Measuring and recording food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output and reporting changes to medical or nursing staff.
• Recording vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate as requested by staff.
• Examining patients to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in the urine.
• Noting observations of patient behavior, including complaints, or physical symptoms reporitng changes in patients condition to RN/LPN

Education Qualifications

• High School Diploma with the successful completion of state approved course of study and certification testing for Nursing Assistant training and/or documented completion of military equivalent, and/or successful completion of fundamentals semester of nursing school Required

Experience Qualifications

• Previous nursing assistant experience Preferred
