Job summary

Tidelands Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant (Non-Certified) to join our Night shift team. You will support RN staff with basic patient care, assist with transport, and help maintain a safe, clean environment in the acute hospital setting.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma and state-approved Nursing Assistant training. BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, with state-approved Nursing Assistant training course completion.
• May include military equivalent or fundamentals semester of nursing school.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic patient care in nutrition, elimination, comfort, mobility and safety.
• Transport and transfer patients within the facility using proper equipment.
• Assist nursing staff with lifting and ambulating patients following safety guidelines.
• Maintain environment and equipment, deliver necessary items to Central Service and Maintenance.
• Communicate and document information accurately with the health care team.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and unit staff meetings.

The NA is also responsible for transporting and transferring patients within the medical complex in a safe and efficient manner. The NA will also assist with data collection to facilitate the delivery of delegated nursing care.What you will doAssists with basic care for patients in the areas of nutrition, elimination, comfort, mobility and safety.Transports and transfers patients within the medical complex using appropriate equipment and utilizing safety precautions as indicated by the patient's health status.Assists nursing staff in lifting and ambulating patients using appropriate practice guidelines.Maintains environment and equipment and will locate and deliver appropriate equipment to Central Service and Maintenance departments.Works collaboratively with the health care team members to effectively communicate and document accurate information.Demonstrates dependability, organizational skills and effective use of time by setting priorities to complete delegated work within established time frames in accordance with unit guidelines.Demonstrates role accountability by adhering to Tidelands Health mission statement, policies and confidentiality standards.Participates in quality improvement activities to continuously improve patient care and unit operations.Participates in unit staff meetings.Education QualificationsHigh School Diploma graduate or equivalent required with the completion of state approved course of study for Nursing Assistant training and/or documented completion of military equivalent, and/or successful completion of fundamentals semester of nursing school RequiredExperience QualificationsTwo (2) years previous healthcare experience PreferredSkills and AbilitiesRequires the use of computers, EMR softwareSelf-starter with the ability to multi-taskWorks with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providersExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsLicenses and CertificationsBasic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire.
