Job summary

Westminster St. Augustine is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Health Center team on a full-time basis for the 3-11pm shift. You will provide routine nursing care to residents under supervision, maintaining dignity and quality of care in a Life Care retirement setting.

The role requires Florida CNA certification and CPR; one year in long-term care is preferred. We offer comprehensive benefits and a team-focused culture within Westminster Communities of Florida.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with Florida laws.
• CPR certification required; Med Tech Certification preferred.
• One year of long-term care experience or working with handicapped or developmentally disabled adults.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring, ambulating, toileting).
• Maintain room hygiene; ensure beds are made and trash removed.
• Assist with meals and feeding when needed; take vitals and report changes to the nurse.
• Practice infection prevention in line with regulations.
• Document promptly in CNA ECS flow-sheet and keep records accurate.
• Perform rounds to ensure safety equipment is in place and functioning.

Located in the heart of World Golf Village, Westminster St. Augustine, a Life Care Retirement Community, is currently accepting applications for the position of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to work in our Health Center on a full-time basis for the 3-11pm shift. As a part of the Nursing Team, this individual will provide assigned residents with routine daily nursing care in accordance with nursing care procedures and as directed by their supervisor in a manner that preserves residents’ dignity, honors their rights, provides good customer service, communicates appropriately and adheres to federal and state compliance regulations. As part of the Westminster Family, this position is a vital part of our Nursing Team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Certified Nursing Assistant must comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities including:

• Assist patients/residents with Activities of Daily Living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring, ambulating, toileting, and other resident needs.
• Ensure that beds are made; trash has been removed, and a high level of hygiene is maintained in the room.
• Ensure that meals are served on time and assist residents with meals and feeding, if necessary.
• Take vital signs and report observations and any change in condition to the nurse.
• Practice infection prevention and control measures in compliance with Federal, State and facility requirements.
• Document in CNA ECS flow-sheet promptly, accurately and comprehensively/thoroughly.
• Make routine and frequent rounds to ensure those safety precautions/equipment are in place and in working order.
• Avoid development of skin problems or skin breakdown by providing timely incontinent care and frequent re-positioning of residents that need assistance.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience: Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with the laws of Florida and must be CPR Certified. Med Tech Certification preferred. One year of long term care experience or working with handicapped or developmentally disabled adults.

Physical and Environmental Requirements. The physical activities of this position involve:Balancing, Grasping, Pushing, Climbing, Kneeling, Reclining, Crouching, Lifting up to 40 lbs., Standing, Fingering, Stooping

Sensory and communicative activities with or without prosthetics of this position are:Feeling, Seeing, Smelling, Hearing, Speaking

An individual in this position will be exposed to:Inside/outside environmental conditions, Bloodborne pathogens, Respiratory pathogens, Physical equipment hazards

Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of this position.
