Purpose of Your Job Position

The primary purpose of your job is to provide each of your assigned residents with routine daily care and services in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisors.

Job Functions

1. Administrative Functions: Use wristbands or photo ID to identify residents, record entries accurately, report changes in condition, and document incidents.
2. Admission, Transfer, and Discharge Functions: Prepare rooms, greet residents, inventory possessions, and assist with transfers and discharges.
3. Personnel Functions: Follow policies, cooperate with staff, and report grievances or absences.
4. Personal Nursing Care Functions: Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, mobility, vital signs, and other daily activities as instructed.
5. Food Service Functions: Prepare residents for meals, assist with feeding, and record intake.
6. Staff Development: Attend training and educational programs.
7. Safety and Sanitation: Follow safety protocols, maintain cleanliness, and report hazards.
8. Equipment and Supply Functions: Use equipment properly, report defects, and request supplies.
9. Care Plan Functions: Review and follow care plans, document care provided.
10. Residents' Rights: Maintain confidentiality, treat residents with dignity, and respect their rights.
11. Work Conditions: Work in various areas, handle interruptions, and adhere to safety and health standards.
12. Education: Possess at least an 8th-grade education and be a certified CNA in New York.
13. Specific Requirements: Ability to read, write, speak English, make independent decisions, work harmoniously, and handle residents with patience and tact.
