Position Description:
A nursing assistant responsible for providing routine nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, as directed by the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator, to maintain the highest quality of resident care at all times.

Qualifications:

1. Have a license as a certified nursing assistant.
2. A minimum of 6 months experience as a CNA or clinical experience while enrolled in a CNA certification program.
3. Possess a sincere desire to serve the ill, aged, and infirm.
4. Ability to read, write, and speak English.
5. Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
6. Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
7. Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and the ability to handle residents at their current maturity level.
8. In good health and emotionally stable.
9. Ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and sometimes hostile individuals within the facility.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform all duties as assigned, following facility policies, nursing care procedures, and safety regulations.
2. Make resident rounds at the start of each shift and every two hours to administer nursing care.
3. Verify resident identity before providing care or serving food to ensure appropriate care.
4. Report missing ID bands immediately.
5. Make beds, clean bedside and overbed tables.
6. Ensure water pitchers are cleaned, filled with fresh water, and within residents' reach.
7. Perform other duties as necessary or directed by supervisory staff.
