Wadsworth Glen Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Middletown is hiring CNAs for full-time and part-time roles across all shifts, including every-other-weekend rotations. Evening, overnight, and weekend shifts offer differential pay.

The facility provides 102 beds and focuses on routine daily nursing care under licensed staff supervision. As a CNA, you will carry out assigned residents' daily nursing tasks and support the care plan, with emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and compassionate

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered CNA license in Connecticut.
• CPR certification preferred, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of each resident.
• Participate in planning and following current resident care plan on all residents under his/her care.
• Complete resident assignments effectively and promptly.
• Observe changes in resident conditions and promptly report them.
• Document accurately and completely.
• Meet personal grooming needs for each resident.
• Promptly answer call lights and assure that all are placed within reach of the resident.
• Assure the resident care areas are left clean and in an orderly manner.
• Maintain resident identification (I.D. bracelets, etc.).
• Demonstrate correct safety techniques in accord with orientation and training processes.
• Other duties assigned by manager.

Full-time and part-time openings on all shifts, including every-other-weekend rotations. Evenings, overnights, and weekends have shift differentials. Wadsworth Glen is a 102-bed skilled nursing facility.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), the primary purpose of your job position is to provide your assigned residents with routine daily nursing care in accordance with our established nursing care procedures, and as may be directed by the licensed staff nurse.

Experience & Education:

• Must possess an active and unencumbered CNA license in Connecticut.

• CPR certification preferred, but not necessary.

• New graduates welcome!

Specific Requirements:

• Must have knowledge of restorative nursing and rehabilitation policies and utilize appropriately.

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.

• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.

• Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.

• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.

• Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.

• Must be able to communicate effectively with appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations.
