Job summary

Union Plaza Care Center in Queens, NY is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our compassionate team. You will assist residents with daily activities, promote dignity and independence, and document observations for nursing staff.

This role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and resident-centered care in a supportive environment. Active NY CNA certification is required; prior long-term care or rehab experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.
• Encourage participation in recreational activities to improve well-being.

• Follow infection control procedures, safety guidelines, and policies.
• Document care provided and resident observations accurately.
• Communicate effectively with nurses and the inter-disciplinary team.

Pay Rate: $24.65- $27 per hour

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, and meal assistance

• Observe and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or mental condition to nursing staff
• Maintain a safe, clean, comfortable, and supportive environment for residents
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members

• Keep resident rooms, equipment, and common areas clean and organized
• Follow infection control procedures, safety guidelines, and facility policies at all times
• Accurately document care provided and resident observations
• Communicate effectively with nurses and interdisciplinary team members regarding resident needs and concerns
• Collaborate with nursing staff and fellow caregivers to ensure exceptional resident care and satisfaction

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of New York
• Previous long-term care or rehabilitation experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
