Job summary

Visiting Angels Lufkin is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our local team serving Deep East Texas, including Crockett and Lufkin. You will provide compassionate in-home care, assist with mobility, meal prep, light housekeeping, and companionship.

Qualifications

• Passion to serve others - a true caregiver.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Respectful and compassionate.
• Experience with Bathing assistance and incontinence care.
• Experience with transferring seniors using a hoyer lift or gait belt.
• Strong ethics and knowledge of Alzheimer's and Dementia.
• 2 years professional experience with the elderly in a facility or with an agency or CNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (transferring assistance using hoyer lifts or gait belts or walkers and wheelchairs).
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene (bathing assistance and incontinence care).
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able).
• Shop for clients or accompany them to shops (grocery shopping, salon, doctor visits).
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own.
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report any unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.
