Job summary

River Terrace Retirement Community in Bluffton is seeking a personable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to perform resident care activities and services for our nursing home residents. This full-time position offers shift options 6a-2p, 2p-10p, or 10p-6a with every other weekend required.

Shifts include Baylor Weekend Option: Friday, Saturday & Sunday, with 36 hours worked but paid for 40. CNA duties cover bathing, hygiene, care planning, and teamwork with the inter-disciplinary staff to

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, hygiene and grooming per care plan.
• Provide nursing care under supervision of the Charge Nurse and MDT.
• Ensure residents are up and dressed per the care plan and schedules.
• Interact with residents and families in a supportive, non-judgmental manner.
• Follow care plan and perform additional duties as assigned.

CNA Job details/Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and techniques necessary to care for residents with the following needs: therapeutic, neuro and dementia, dialysis, IV therapy, infectious disease, and wound care, if applicable.

• Provides nursing care in accordance with Resident Care Policies and Procedures and ensures the safety and well-being of the residents are maintained.

• Acts appropriately under the direction of the Charge Nurse and acts as an active member of the inter-disciplinary team.

• Assists residents with bathing, dressing, hygiene, and grooming, in accordance with the established Care Plan.

• Ensures that all residents are out of bed according to the established Care Plan.

• Interacts with residents, family members, co-workers, and clinical and ancillary staff in a non-judgmental, supportive, and calm manner.

• Additional duties as assigned to follow the Care Plan.

CNA Qualifications:

• A graduate of an accredited high school or GED is preferred.

• Must be 18 years and older.

• Must possess an active Certified Nursing Assistant Certification; having successfully completed a State approved training program and necessary examination.

• Must provide documentation of certification upon application for the position.
