Position involves personal care, vital signs, feeding assistance, documentation, and collaboration with nurses on care plans. Compensation is up to $27.00 per hour with opportunities in a fresh, resident-centered

Qualifications

• Current NY CNA certification.
• Minimum 6 months CNA experience.
• CPR certification required.
• Clear English communication, both written and spoken.
• Highest level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Customer service oriented and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care) for residents.
• Change bed linen and maintain supplies in resident rooms.
• Ambulate and transfer residents using proper body mechanics.
• Record vital signs, weights, intake/output, and dietary intake.
• Turn and position residents to prevent complications.
• Observe and report changes in condition to Charge Nurse.
• Assist in data collection for MDS and care plan development.
• Provide hydration to residents at regular intervals.
• Assist with meals and transport to dining room as needed.
• Document food intake and output.
• Monitor environment for ventilation, temperature, light and noise levels.
• Take vital signs as directed and respond to call lights.
• Assist in orienting and training other staff.

Tired of the same old nursing home routine? We are taking a very fresh approach to skilled nursing. The Luxor at Sayville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is seeking for a CNA to join their growing team. Come in for an interview with our Administrator and DON!!

Salary:up to $27.00 an hour

Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care (i.e., grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, etc.) of residents daily and as needed.
• Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in resident room on a regular basis.
• Ambulate and transfer residents, utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.
• Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other information, as assigned.
• Routinely turn and position residents, as necessary.
• Observe residents carefully and report changes in condition to Charge Nurse.
• Participate in collecting data needed for the accurate completion of the MDS and the plan of care. Provide input to the nurses for development of the plan of care.
• Provide adequate hydration to residents at regular intervals each day according to specific resident needs.
• Prepare residents for each meal and transport them to dining room (unless a bed patient) making sure that food tray is accessible, self-help devices are available (if needed), and assistance is provided to those residents who cannot feed themselves.
• Keep an accurate record of food intake and output, as directed.
• Be alert for proper ventilation, temperature, light and noise control.
• Take TPR (temperature, pulse, & rate), blood pressure, weighing of residents, etc., as directed.
• Promptly answer call lights and assist with other resident needs.
• Assist in the orientation and training of other staff, as requested.

CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Current Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in NY state.
• Must have at least 6 months of CNA experience.
• Current/active CPR certification.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
