Job summary

Regency at Bluff's Park in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our on-site care team. This role assists residents with daily living activities under supervision of licensed nursing staff.

Shifts include 8- and 12-hour options with PRN available. Responsibilities include direct resident care, vital signs, mobility assistance, infection control, and maintaining a safe, compassionate environment.

Qualifications

• CNA duties including bathing, grooming, toileting and feeding.
• High School Diploma or GED required; state CNA certification preferred.
• Ability to follow resident care plans and report observations to licensed staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
• Measure and record vital signs and report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist residents with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics.
• Respond to call lights and resident needs promptly.
• Maintain documentation and adhere to infection control guidelines.

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) cares for residents under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical/vocational nurse. This role assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensures a safe and comfortable environment, and supports licensed nursing staff in delivering individualized care in accordance with regulatory requirements and facility policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide direct resident care, includingassistancewith bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinent care as applicable, oralhygieneand feeding.

• Assistresidents with mobility, transfers, and position using proper body mechanics and lift equipment as applicable.


• Respond promptly to call lights, resident needs, and changes in condition; report observations to licensed nursing staff.


• Support residents’ independence and dignity, while ensuring safety and comfort


• Maintainaccurateandtimelydocumentation andin accordance withfacility procedures


• Follow infection control,safety,and universal precaution guidelinesat all times.


• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive living environment


• Maintains a clean,safeand comfortable environment


• Makeroutine rounds on each assigned resident every two hours.


• Provides skin care andobservesresidents’skin when giving care and reports changes to licensednurse.


• Modifies own behavior in response to residents’ behaviors.


• Is aware of developmental tasks associated with the agingprocess.


• Contributes to theresidents’assessment (MDS/CAA’s) and the plan of care.


• Promoteresidents’ability toadaptand adjust to living as independently as possible.


• Assiststhe resident in self-care according to the resident’s abilities.


• Assiststheresidentsin the use of assistive devices for transferring, walking and mobility, dressing and grooming,eatingand swallowing.


• Maintainsrangeofmotion,proper turning and positioning in bed and chair.


• Assistswith bowel and bladder retraining.


• Instructs the resident on the care and use of prosthetic and orthotic devices.


• Incorporates training and skill practice activities, which include repetition, physical or verbalcueing,and task segmentation.

• Provides non-resident care including but not limited to:

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Graduate/GED

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Must be a State Tested Nursing Assistant in good standing with the certification board or is a graduate of a state approved nursing assistant training program and passed a state approved competency examination (written and skills) within 120 days of employment; name entered into state nurse aide registry.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Meets all state and federal criminal background check requirements.
