Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential, hands-on care to patients or residents, supporting their daily living activities and overall comfort. Working closely with nurses and healthcare providers, the CNA is responsible for delivering compassionate care, ensuring safety, maintaining patient hygiene, and accurately documenting vital information. This role plays a vital part in improving the quality of life for those under medical supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care with empathy and professionalism
• Respond promptly to patient calls and assess how best to assist them
• Support patients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and hygiene
• Turn and reposition bedridden patients to prevent bedsores
• Assist with patient nutrition and hydration, ensuring dietary needs and restrictions are met
• Collect and communicate relevant information from physicians, nurses, and caregivers
• Accurately measure and record food/fluid intake and urinary/fecal output
• Record and report vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration)
• Examine patients for any physical concerns (e.g., wounds, bruising, unusual symptoms) and notify nursing staff
• Remind patients to take prescribed medications and supplements as directed
• Document and report behavioral observations and symptoms to nurses
• Stay current with facility protocols, CNA training, and care procedures

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of employment
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and excellent observation skills
• Physical ability to lift, move, and support patients
• Good communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a nursing home, hospital, or assisted living facility
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
• CPR/First Aid certification (if not required)
