Job summary

Samaritan Keep Home is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide essential care to residents on a full-time evening shift. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, assisting with personal care, and documenting observations.

Qualifications

• One year or more experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant preferable.
• Computer experience preferred.
• BLS certification preferred.
• Eligible for NYS Department of Health Certification as a Long Term Care Nursing Assistant.

Job description

Location: Samaritan Keep Home Department: 02.6026 SKH 6TH FLOOR MED UNIT Pay Range: $20.60 - $22.30

Shift & Hours

Work Shift: FLSA880- 8 Hours Evening Shift (United States). Position Hours: 80.

Responsibilities

• Assists with tasks to care for residents.
• Maintains a resident’s room with bed making, tidying, emptying linen bags.
• Wash residents’ hands and face, assist with nail and hair care, passing trays, passing fluids, entering consumption records.
• Assists with activities, assists ambulatory residents who need queuing.
• Document basic resident observations and accurately document the type of care given.
• Use equipment to move residents and take vital signs.
• Understand printed health related material.
• May need to work beyond scheduled hours when necessary.
• Any other associated duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• One year or more experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant preferable.
• Computer experience preferred.
• Works effectively with others, possesses tact, discretion and diplomacy.
• Ability to work under stress, complete duties with frequent interruptions.
• Effective communication with supervisors and co‑workers.
• BLS certification preferred.
• New York State Department of Health Certification or eligible for certification as a Long Term Care Nursing Assistant.
• Minimum Education: High school level of knowledge preferred; graduated from Certified Nursing Assistant Program; NYS Certified.
