Job summary

Samaritan Summit Village is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate care on the 4th floor SNF. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, bed making, hygiene, and nourishment support.

Requirements include NYS CNA certification or eligibility, good communication, teamwork, and ability to work evening shifts. High school diploma required; prior experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required or-equivalent.
• NYS Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required or eligible for certification.
• Familiar with basic resident care procedures and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Maintain residents' rooms, assist with meals, and document care provided.
• Record observations, vital signs, and report to supervisor as needed.

Location:Samaritan Summit VillageDepartment:07.6124 SSV 4TH FLOOR SNFPay Range:$21.22 - $22.97Care for our community, and your career.One year or more experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant preferable.Computer experience preferred.Works effectively with others, possess tact, discretion and diplomacy.Ability to work under stress and complete duties sometimes with numerous interruptions.Must be able to communicate information to supervisor and co- workers.Assists with tasks to care for our residents.Maintains a resident’s room with bed making, tidy up, emptying linen bags.Wash resident’s hands and face, assist with nail and hair care, passing trays, passing fluids, entering consumption records, assisting with activities, assisting ambulatory resident who needs queuing.Ability to document basic resident observations.Must be able to write legibly and be able to accurately document the type of care given.Must be familiar with equipment used to move residents, take vital signs and document.Ability to understand printed health related material.BLS certification preferred.New York State Department of Health Certification or eligible for certification as a Long Term Care Nursing Assistant.May need to work beyond scheduled hours when necessary.Any other associated duties as assigned.Minimum Education Requirement –High school level of knowledge preferred.Graduated from Certified Nursing Assistant Program.NYS Certified.Samaritan is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
