Holy Cross Medical Center in Taos, New Mexico, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses. You will support nursing staff with routine patient care tasks while maintaining patient safety, dignity and comfort in a rural, compassionate setting.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of CNA experience, knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology, and proficiency with EHR systems.

Competenze

• One year CNA experience in a healthcare setting, preferably hospital.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of patient care practices and anatomy/physiology.
• Ability to use standard medical equipment (BP cuff, thermometer, stethoscope).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; proficient with EHR systems.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments with compassionate, patient-focused approach.
• Adherence to Holy Cross Medical Center patient-safety, infection-control and HIPAA policies.
• Strong written and verbal communication with diverse individuals.
• Record of satisfactory performance evidenced by positive references.
• BLS certification.

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position provides essential support to the nursing team in delivering direct patient care. The CNA will be responsible for performing a variety of patient care activities and functions. The role requires a commitment to patient safety, dignity, and comfort while maintaining a compassionate, respectful and professional attitude.

Experience:

• One (1) year CNA experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital environment.
• High school diploma or GED High School Equivalency Test required.

Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:

• Knowledge of patient care practices and basic anatomy and physiology.
• Ability to effectively use standard medical equipment (e.g., blood pressure cuff, thermometer, stethoscope).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while maintaining a compassionate and patient-focused approach
• Adherence to Holy Cross Medical Center policies surrounding patient safety, infection control and HIPAA.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in dealing with a variety of individuals.
• Compassionate, patient-focused and adaptable to the dynamic needs of a rural healthcare setting.
• A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred qualifications

• Completion of an accredited CNA program preferred
• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish languages
