Job Summary:

MedStar Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team at Montgomery Medical Center. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of computerized clinical information systems such as Clinicians View and Chart View, as well as HIPAA policies regarding confidentiality.

As a CNA, you will provide direct and indirect patient care according to established procedures, caring for adult and geriatric populations under the supervision of an RN.

Primary Duties:

1. Perform basic, routine, and specialized tasks in the assigned department under RN supervision. Meet patient needs (baths, linen changes, bedpans, water pitchers, etc.), assist with ambulation, positioning, elimination, hygiene, and activities of daily living. Transport and transfer patients, provide nourishment, and participate in shift reports. Maintain patient comfort, privacy, and dignity. Observe and report changes in patient condition.
2. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Prepare patient areas, clean equipment, restock supplies, and ensure orderliness of work areas. Check sterile supplies for sterility when applicable.
3. Assist in collecting and reporting patient data accurately. Monitor vital signs and document care procedures. Interact professionally with patients, families, staff, and physicians. Be flexible with scheduling to meet departmental needs.
4. Maintain current knowledge, certifications, and licensure. Attend continuing education and mandatory training programs, including CPR, licensure renewals, and competency assessments.
5. Work effectively across departments, participate in inter-departmental teams, and communicate knowledge gained. Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.

Qualifications:

• Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Current nursing school student.
• CPR certification.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
• High School Diploma or GED, or completion of a CNA or medical corpsman program, or 6 months of experience in an acute care setting.
• If a nursing student, must have completed fundamentals of nursing, one clinical rotation, and hold a CNA license.

This position offers a hiring range of $17.50 - $28.73.
