Position Overview

Schulman & Schachne Nursing is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our Geriatric Long-Term Care team. This role is critical in delivering compassionate, hands-on care to residents and supporting licensed nursing staff in a skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
• Support resident mobility, transfers, and repositioning using mechanical lifts as needed
• Monitor and report vital signs, fluid intake/output, and any changes in resident condition
• Assist with meals, feeding, hydration, and nutritional monitoring
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transport to appointments
• Ensure a clean, safe, and respectful environment for all residents

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Completion of a New York State-approved CNA training program (minimum 100 hours)
• Current certification as a Nurse Aide in New York State and listed in the RHCF Nurse Aide Registry
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to care for geriatric and cognitively impaired residents
