Position Summary:

The CNA delivers efficient nursing care under supervision, ensuring positive outcomes and patient satisfaction. Performs patient care activities, including ADL assistance, vital signs, patient transfers, positioning, and specimen collection where permitted.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Provide safe and comfortable patient care, including ADL assistance, vital signs, ambulation, positioning, and personal belongings management.
• Assist with treatments, make beds, transport patients, and prepare for rehab therapies.
• Participate in care planning, perform skin treatments, apply dressings, feed patients, and record intake/output.
• Maintain infection control, report patient condition changes, and assist with patient discharge and orientation of new CNAs.
• Ensure confidentiality, participate in quality improvement, and work beyond scheduled shifts if necessary.

Educational/Vocational Requirements:

• Completion of a state-approved CNA program.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be able to communicate effectively in English.
• Verification of TST, willingness to attend continuing education, and adherence to legal and policy standards.

Specimen Collector Responsibilities (where permitted):

• Collect nasal specimens, maintain specimen integrity, and complete documentation.
• Complete training and competency in specimen collection and testing, use PPE appropriately.

Qualification Criteria:

• Experience as Lab tech, enrolled in nursing school, or recommendations from licensed nurses preferred.
• Must be fit tested for N95/KN95 masks.
