Job summary

UH Geneva Medical Center is looking for a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our patient-centered team on the day shift (6a-6p). You will help with resident care, admissions/discharges, and prepare equipment and supplies for use.

You will assist patients with ADLs under RN delegation, support ambulation and positioning, and help maintain a clean, safe environment while participating in quality initiatives and PHI compliance.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

• Ability to assist with ADLs and patient comfort

Responsibilities

• Assists with resident care, admission/discharge, and setup of equipment and supplies
• Performs utility duties related to patient care
• Assists patients with ADLs as delegated by the RN (bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, toileting)
• Assists with ambulating, turning, positioning as delegated by the RN
• Stocking and inventory of resident care supplies
• Monitors patient safety alarms
• Provides clean linens, changes beds, and maintains a safe environment
• Answers call lights and communicates condition changes to the RN
• Obtains vital signs and completes POCT
• Participates in quality and patient experience initiatives
• Performs other duties as assigned and adheres to PHI policies

A Brief Overview

• Assists with: resident care, admission/discharge of patients and with the assembly and set up of equipment and supplies.
• Performs a variety of utility duties associated with patient care.
• Provides assistance to Patients with ADL's as delegated by the RN (bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, toileting)
• Assists Patients in ambulating, turning, positioning as delegated by the RN.
• Assists with stocking and inventory of resident care supplies.
• Monitors patient safety alarms.
• Provides clean linens, changes bed and maintains an uncluttered environment for residents.
• Answers call lights.
• Obtains vital signs and completes POCT.
• Communicates any changes in patient condition to RN.
• Participates in quality and patient experience initiatives.

• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
