Job summary

University Hospitals Geneva Medical Center is seeking a compassionate CNA/Clinical Admin Assistant to join night shift support from 6pm to 6am. The role combines patient care with clerical tasks, under RN supervision, in a busy care setting.

The ideal candidate will perform ADLs, vital signs, and clinical documentation while maintaining PHI integrity and collaborating with the care team. Free parking, retirement plans, and a defined career ladder are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA Certification required upon hire; BLS certification preferred.
• 1+ years of vocational education as a nursing assistant required; 1+ year nursing assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform ADLs (bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, toileting) and monitor vital signs.
• Conduct 12-lead ECG, I&O, and use patient care equipment.
• Maintain and update patient records in oral/electronic formats.
• Audit charts as directed by the RN and report findings.
• Order supplies and support unit operations.
• Assist with front-desk/clinical admin duties as needed.

A Brief Overview

• Completes patient care activities & provides clerical support as delegated by the RN.
• May perform CNA/Clinical Administrative Assistant during a shift as needed.

What You Will Do

• Perform duties including, but not limited to ADLs (bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, toileting), vital signs, I & O, 12-lead ECG, bladder scan, and hygiene.
• Familiarity with using: Wheelchair, EKG equipment, patient assistive devices, and patient care equipment specific to assigned population.
• Conducts chart audits as directed by the nurse manager.
• Assists with patient data collection and reporting.
• Maintains the patient record (in written and/or electronic format).
• Orders supplies for the department as directed by the nurse manager.
• Facilitates communication and efficient unit operations.
• Orients newly hired CNAs and/or clinical administrative assistants.
• Within the administrative assistant role, provides clinical, reception, communication, and guest relations support using verbal, electronic, and written techniques to maintain the operations of the assigned area.
• Performs duties as assigned for Swing population.
• Participates in unit-driven patient experience initiatives set forth by management/system leadership.

Education

• High School Equivalent / GED (Required)

Work Experience

• 1+ years Vocational education as a nursing assistant (Required)
• 1+ years Experience as a Nursing Assistant (Preferred)
