Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso seeks a Nursing Assistant to perform duties under the direct training of a Registered Nurse in the Surgical/Telemetry Progressive area.

Requires High School or equivalent, plus nursing/medical assistant training; RN-based programs or RN-equivalent pathways are accepted. One year of experience preferred; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant or equivalent training program; or Completion of a Fundamental Nursing Registered Nurse training program; or Graduate from an international RN equivalent program.

Responsibilities

• Performs Nursing Assistant duties under the direct training of a Registered Nurse.
• Supports patient care in the Surgical/Telemetry Progressive unit under supervision.

Work Experience

One year of experience as a Nursing Assistant preferred.

Education and Training

High school graduate or equivalent.

Completion of one of the following:

• Completion of a formal Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant or equivalent training program; or
• Completion of a Fundamental Nursing Registered Nurse training program; or
• Graduate from an international Registered Nurse equivalent program.
