Job summary

Touching Angels Healthcare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct personal care in clients’ homes under RN supervision. You’ll document care, monitor client conditions, and use ISAS/LTSS for timekeeping. Full training is provided on agency systems and protocols.

The role requires active Maryland CNA certification, CPR and First Aid, and reliable transportation to serve Baltimore City and surrounding areas. Competitive hourly wage and benefits apply.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Touching Angels Healthcare, a Residential Service Agency licensed by the Maryland Department of Health, is hiring Certified Nursing Assistants to deliver direct personal care to clients in their homes under the clinical supervision of our RN Case Manager and in accordance with each client's plan of care.

You will provide hands‑on personal care, monitor and report client condition, and document your care, with all service time recorded through the state ISAS/LTSS system. Full training is provided on agency systems and protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities

Personal Care and ADL Support (40%)

• Bathe, dress, groom, and feed clients per prescribed protocols, and provide toileting and continence care with dignity
• Prevent skin breakdown through hygiene, positioning, and injury prevention, and report concerns to the RN Case Manager
• Safely lift, transfer, and position clients per the plan of care and provide range of motion exercises as directed

Health Monitoring and Observation (20%)

• Measure and record vital signs, weights, and intake and output as ordered
• Observe and report changes in client condition to the RN Case Manager timely, and report accidents promptly

Client Environment and Safety (15%)

• Maintain a safe, clean home environment; follow standard precautions and OSHA guidelines; and respond to emergencies including CPR

Documentation and Service Time (15%)

• Clock in and out through ISAS/LTSS every shift and report any failed clock event the same day
• Keep clear, complete, timely care records on the correct forms

Client Relations and Compliance (10%)

• Preserve dignity, privacy, and confidentiality; honor client rights; and report suspected abuse or neglect immediately
• Perform nursing tasks only under valid RN delegation

Position Requirements

• Active Maryland CNA certification in good standing with the Maryland Board of Nursing
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Twelve hours of continuing education annually through assigned training
• Minimum age of 18; high school diploma or GED preferred
• Health clearance: annual physical, TB screening, and Hepatitis B vaccination or documented history
• Successful completion of a criminal background check prior to hire
• Reliable transportation to assigned client homes

Preferred: prior home care or private duty experience; experience with transfer equipment; bilingual (Spanish/English).

Physical Requirements

• Regular lifting averaging 40 pounds, up to 45 times per shift when assisting others; two-person lift where the client weighs over 40 pounds
• Walking an average of 8 miles per eight-hour shift with frequent crouching, stooping, bending, and stairs
• Ability to respond to life‑threatening emergencies, including CPR

Environment

Client homes across the assigned service area with travel between locations. Exposure to varied household environments; standard precautions apply.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly wage range: $15.50 to $17.25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
