Job description

Position Purpose- The Clinical Assistant role is vital to the care provided at Children's Hospital Colorado. This position acts as a system-wide resource, assisting patients and families with personal hygiene and daily living needs, ensuring comfort and stability through vital sign monitoring. Additionally, this role supports nursing staff and other healthcare providers in diagnostic procedures and treatments, functioning as part of the healthcare team. Our Anschutz Medical Campus serves units including Surgical, Hematology/Oncology, Medical, Pulmonary, Inpatient Rehabilitation, CPCU, NICU, PICU, CICU, and Perioperative.

Annual Salary Range: $41,600 to $51,171 (based on 40 hours/week and experience) / Hourly

Qualifications:

• EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association is required.
  • Certification as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is required.
  • Alternatively, proof of completion of health assessment and nursing foundation courses, along with basic medical/surgical clinical rotation in an accredited program, may be considered in lieu of certifications.

Job Highlights:

• Attend to individual patient needs, including grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, transferring, providing comfort, and communicating needs to the healthcare team.
• Perform tasks such as checking vital signs, weighing patients, applying creams or dressings, and collecting specimens.
• Meet patient needs by utilizing resources, transporting patients, responding to call lights, and reporting observations.
• Act as a conduit between patients and healthcare providers by recording and communicating issues to the medical team.
