Job summary

The Moorings of Arlington Heights looks for a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join its assisted living team. The role provides direct and indirect care under nurse supervision to residents, with a 3pm-11pm schedule and every other weekend requirement, in Arlington Heights, IL.

You will support daily living activities, communicate clearly with the care team, and help create a respectful, person-centered environment for seniors. CPR and Illinois CNA certification are required.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in Illinois.
• CPR certification from American Heart Association.
• Reading, writing, and comprehension skills for medical terminology.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
• Interest and ability to work with older adults.
• General knowledge of geriatric resident needs.

Responsibilities

• Carries out nursing care within education/training scope as assigned by the charge nurse.
• Adheres to Presbyterian Homes standards of care for the nursing department.
• Communicates effectively with residents, co-workers and visitors.
• Interacts with residents to meet social and recreational needs.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by Charge Nurse.

Position Overview

The main function of this position is to provide direct and indirect care under supervision of the nurse to a selected group of residents. This role can be in skilled care department or assisted living department.The minimum education, experience and qualifications for this position are: current certification as a nursing assistant with the Illinois Department of Public Health; able to speak, read, write and comprehend English skills needed to use medical terminology on the job; ability to do simple arithmetic; good communication skills; interest in working with older adults; and general knowledge of the needs of geriatric residents

Key Responsibilities

• Carries out nursing care with the scope of education/training and ability as assigned by charge nurse.
• Adheres to the policies and procedures of Presbyterian Homes standards of care of the nursing department.
• Communicates properly with co-workers, supervisors, other employees and visitors. Interacts with residents to meet their social and recreational needs.
• Uses good interpersonal skills in establishing a relationship with the residents.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living as needed.
• Preforms other related duties as assigned by Charge Nurse.

Qualifications & Skills

• CNA Certification in the state of Illinois.
• CPR certified, Accredited by American Heart Association.
• Reading, writing, and comprehension skilled needed to use medical terminology on the job.
• Ability to do simple arithmetic.
• Long-term care experience preferred but not required.
• General knowledge of the needs of general patients.
