Job summary

Apple Rehab Avon in Avon, CT is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our family-oriented skilled nursing and short-term rehab team. You will assist residents with daily living activities, document care, and report changes to the supervising nurse in a supportive, community-focused environment.

Starting pay is $20 per hour, with shifts including mornings, afternoons, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must hold current CNA certification in good standing.
• No history of patient abuse per State Registry.
• Proficient in reading, writing and following instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
• Team player with good cooperation and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, tact, enthusiasm and positive attitude toward residents.
• Per diem staff must fulfill two weekend shifts monthly.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily bathing, grooming, dental care, and mobility.
• Document personal care given according to facility policies.
• Provide nursing functions as directed, including perineal care and vital signs.
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition.
• Report accidents or injuries immediately.
• Maintain charting entries and respond to call lights and emergencies.

Responsibilities:

• Assists residents in daily bathing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, dressing, walking and wheelchair use, positioning in and out of bed. C.N.A.
• Certified Nurse’s Assistant documents personal care given according to facility policies.
• Provides nursing functions as directed including perineal care, making beds, turning residents, measures and records temperature, weight, pulse and respiration. C.N.A.
• Certified Nurse’s Assistant observes and reports to supervisor changes in residents’ condition, including any skin breakdowns.
• Reports immediately all accidents or injuries.
• Records all necessary charting entries.
• Answers all call lights regardless of assignment. Responds to emergency situations calmly and efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Must hold current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing.
• No history of patient/resident abuse as per State Registry.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and following oral and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent follow-through, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Team player with good cooperation and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards residents and their support networks.
• Per diem staff are expected to fulfill (2) weekend shifts monthly to meet requirements.

Differentials Offered:

• Shift Differentials for 2nd and 3rd shifts and weekends
• Additional Shifts Differential: Extra $5.00/hour for any shifts worked outside scheduled hours

Available Shifts:

• 32 hours 7AM-3PM, 3PM-11PM
• 24 hours 7AM-3PM, 3PM-11PM, 11PM-7AM
• 16 hours 7AM-3PM, 3PM-11PM
• Per Diem

Starting hourly rate: $20.00 / per hour (or more depending on experience and education.)
