Job Summary

The Certified Nurse Aide, under the direction of the Registered Nurse or an appropriate designee, assists the medical and nursing staff by providing direct and indirect patient care and performing related duties and procedures as assigned.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist the patient with ADLs (activities of daily living) such as personal hygiene and grooming care, feeding, ambulation, turning, and lifting.
• Obtain, report, and record patient data.
• Assist with swing bed activities.
• Perform clerical duties as needed.
• Perform miscellaneous duties and tasks as appropriate to training and skill, assigned by RN, including assisting with workload in other areas when directed.
• Position requires access to highly confidential information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Current CNA Certificate or actively enrolled in an Idaho‑approved CNA training program and working under the supervision of a licensed RN.
• Current BLS Certification required.

Skills/Competencies

• Discontinuing IVs (after 90 days of orientation and competency).
• Recording for Code Blue using the Code Blue Sheet.
• Able to demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks, use good judgement in the delivery of patient care, and communicate effectively with patients, family members, care team members, and providers.
