UM, Capital Region Medical Group, a member of the University of Maryland Medical System, is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join its thriving practice at UM Capital Region Hospital, including its new State-of-the-Art Facility in Largo, MD. The CNMs provide outpatient Midwifery Care at several outpatient medical office locations and operate a women’s healthcare mobile unit serving underserved populations within Maryland and DC.

The Certified Nurse Midwife offers comprehensive patient care under the supervision of a physician, managing antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care. Responsibilities include patient admission, monitoring, reporting on progress, discharge planning, and follow-up.

Qualifications

Education

• Master’s Degree (Required)
• Relevant education and experience may be considered as a substitute for a degree.

Certification / Licensure / Registration

• BLS Certification (Required)
• Maryland Certified Nurse Midwife Licensure (Required)
• Maryland CDS license (Required)
• Maryland State DEA license (Required)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Required)
• NCC EFM Certification (Required within 3 months of hire)

Experience and Skills

• 2-4 years Midwifery experience (Preferred)
• Ability to scrub as a first assistant on Cesarean sections (Preferred)
• Proven skills in third trimester ultrasound (Preferred)
• Required Skills: Strong verbal communication, excellent interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, customer service skills, analytical skills

Physical Requirements and Demands

• Adequate hearing for job duties in person and over the phone.
• Ability to hear alarms, telephones, tape recorders, and normal speech.
