CoxHealth South is hiring a Nurse Assistant trainee to provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff. Responsibilities include taking vitals, assisting with activities of daily living, moving patients, and reporting any changes in condition.

The program prepares unlicensed assistive personnel through classroom and clinical learning, with competency assessment at the end to validate skills and readiness for routine inpatient care.

Qualifications

• Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 3 months experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long-term care setting OR
• Completed an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years OR
• Completed the fundamentals of nursing course with clinical in an accredited program OR
• Must have Missouri CNA License OR MO CNA Appendix AND license must be obtained within 120 days of hire

Job Summary

Functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel. While in the clinical learning environment, will provide basic patient care under direction and supervision of clinical educator and nursing staff. During clinical rotation, may perform duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens and other duties within their scope of practice as directed. While in clinical setting, obtains information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff or clinical educator and reports any changes in patient condition. At the end of the training, a competency assessment will be administered to validate learning.
