Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine, is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant II (CNA II) for Peri Anesthesia. This per diem, day-shift role supports RN with direct patient care, monitors patients, and maintains safety in a fast-paced unit.

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent, CNA or patient care certification, BLS within 30 days, and willingness to obtain dysrhythmia interpretation. Acute care experience preferred; competitive pay and benefits offered.

Title: Certified Nurse Assistant II (CNA II) Department: Peri Anesthesia

Per Diem, Day Shift Schedule: 12 hours

Pay: $23.00 to $26.75

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is a certified person who performs direct care in the department setting. The PCA II maintains a current certification in patient care and is responsible to assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the RN as long as the activity does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. Current Certification in Patient Care required (M.A. / CNA / EMT / Paramedic / Patient Care Tech, etc.).

3. Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.

4. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current

5. Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician, preferred.

6. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.

7. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.

8. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

9. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office, preferred.

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $23.00 to $26.75.
