The 20-bed Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU (TCV ICU) serves patients undergoing complex cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgeries, including CABG, valve surgeries, transplants, and procedures requiring mechanical circulatory support like ECMO. Patients stay a minimum of 24 hours postoperatively, with care involving ventilatory support and vasoactive infusions.

Position Details:

• Part-time, 2 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Rotating shifts

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting patients with personal care to support recovery
• Performing basic nursing skills delegated by an RN
• Ensuring a safe environment and safe care delivery
• Providing administrative support as needed
• Maintaining necessary skills and competencies

Compensation Range: $15.37 - $23.82 hourly

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• No experience required; relevant experience preferred
• Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) certification through the Virginia Board of Nursing
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification

Physical Demands: Frequent bending/stooping, lifting 20-50 lbs, and >100 lbs (Home Health Aide). May be exposed to chemicals, blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
