Job summary

Lutheran Senior Services is seeking a qualified Certified Nursing Assistant to provide daily supportive and functional care in a compassionate environment. The role works with an interdisciplinary team to view residents as active participants in their own care.

Responsibilities include ADL support, observation, documentation, meal assistance, and participation in care plans to improve residents’ quality of life, with emphasis on dignity and respect for residents and families.

Qualifications

• Missouri: Current CNA certification.
• Illinois: Current CNA certification.
• Pennsylvania: Enrollment, or eligibility for enrollment within 120 days of completion of the training program, on the PA nurse aide registry.

Responsibilities

• Maintains residents’ comfort and provides ADL care per scope of practice; answers call lights and reports observations to nurse.
• Assists with personal care needs and supports resident independence.
• Observes residents to identify changing needs and reports to nurse.
• Participates in care/service plans to improve residents’ lives.
• Assists with mealtimes and feeds residents needing full assistance.
• Documents care provided in clinical records and maintains a safe, clean environment.

Handles residents’ personal care needs and support in a timely manner; helps maintain residents’ dignity by letting them do as much for themselves as possible3.
