Eckerd Connects is hiring a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Instructor in St. Petersburg, FL to deliver the CNA curriculum in a Job Corps setting.

The role emphasizes motivating students, meeting program goals, and aligning with project requirements forCareer development and learning. The position requires current Florida nursing licensure (LPN/RN) with nursing experience and teaching or supervision of nursing assistants.

Qualifications

• Hold a clear, active Florida license to practice professional or practical nursing (LPN or RN).
• One year of nursing experience and either teaching adults or supervising nursing assistants.
• Valid driver's license preferred and ability to pass a drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Instruct CNA curriculum in a regular classroom setting per Job Corps requirements.
• Promote a positive classroom atmosphere to maximize student motivation and learning.
• Meet SMART goals set by management and prepare program reports.
• Counsel and motivate students regarding behavior and study habits.
• Collaborate with coordinators to implement School to Career / Work-Based Learning.

Salary Range: $50,000 to $52,400

Duties and Responsibilities

• The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Instructor performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions in designated subject area.
• The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Instructor promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to insure maximum student motivation and learning.
• Meets SMART Goals established by management every Program Year.
• Instructs on the Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) curriculum in accordance with the Job Corps requirements and program specifications.
• Counsels and motivates students regarding behavior, training, personal and/or study habits and problems.
• Individualizes Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) curriculum to fit the students’ choice of vocation and maintains contact with vocational counselors and instructors.
• Prepares reports such as student/staff hours, requisitions, and monthly student evaluations.
• Work collaboratively with BCL-WBL Coordinator to implement the School to Career / Work-Based Learning Program as well as identify possible new WBL site partners.
• Meets monthly with Career Counselors, BCL-WBL Coordinator and trainees on their evaluations.

Qualifications

• Hold a clear, active Florida license to practice professional or practical nursing [LPN or RN]
• Have at least one year of professional or practical nursing experience; and meet one of the following criteria:
  • Have completed a course in teaching adults; or
  • Have at least one year of experience teaching adults; or
  • Have at least one year of experience supervising nursing assistants.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
