Job summary

Majestic Care of McCordsville is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team delivering direct hands-on nursing care to residents daily. The CNA helps residents achieve the highest functioning level while living as normal a lifestyle as possible.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, responding to call lights, transporting residents, and reporting observations to the nurse. The role emphasizes privacy, infection control, and resident adjustment support.

Qualifications

• Certified and state tested as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state employed; certificate must be active, valid, and in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
• Respond to call lights to ensure comfort, safety and privacy.
• Help transport residents by ambulation or wheelchair to dining, lobby and activities.
• Report significant findings/observations to the nurse promptly.
• Assist residents on admission, transfer and discharge for smooth transitions.
• Safeguard residents' personal possessions and keep rooms neat and safe.
• Follow infection control techniques at all times.
• Respect resident privacy and confidentiality.
• Re-teach residents to perform ADL skills and provide restorative care.
• Support residents and families adjusting to the community.
• Ensure adequate hydration and nutrition; report deviations to the Charge Nurse.
• Measure blood pressure, pulse, respirations, intake/output and weights accurately.

Position Overview:

The CNA is a member of the community nursing team whose responsibility is to assist professional nursing personnel by delivering direct hands-on nursing care to ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents on a daily basis. The CNA is also responsible for assisting the residents to achieve the highest level of functioning while living as normal a lifestyle as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• To perform or assist the resident with completing Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
• Respond to residents call lights to provide maximum comfort, safety and privacy.
• Transport residents by ambulation or by wheelchair to areas of community (dining room, lobby and activities).
• Report any significant findings/observations to nurse immediately.
• Assist residents on admission, transfer and discharge to make a smooth transition.
• Responsible for the safekeeping of residents’ personal possessions.
• Keep resident rooms neat and safe.
• Follow proper infection control techniques
• Respect the rights of each resident, particularly privacy and confidentiality.
• Re-teach resident to perform ADL skills.
• Provide restorative care to prevent pressure sores, contractures, and complications.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement and ensures follow-up occurs.
• Converse with resident and family; assist them on adjustment to the community.
• Ensure adequate hydration and nutrition of resident; report deviations from norm to the Charge Nurse promptly.
• Perform blood pressure, pulse, respirations, intake/output and weights accurately.
