Job summary

Majestic Care of Jefferson Pointe is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team and provide direct hands-on nursing care to ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents on a daily basis.

The CNA will assist professional nursing personnel, support activities of daily living, monitor residents, and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment while upholding our core values of Listening, Empathy, Accountability, and Decisiveness.

Qualifications

• Must be certified and state tested as a CNA in the state employed; certificate must be active, valid, and in good standing.
• Active CNA license required for employment in the state of Indiana.
• Prior experience in a long-term care setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
• Respond to call lights to provide safety and comfort.
• Transport residents by ambulation or wheelchair within the community.
• Report significant findings/observations to the nurse promptly.
• Assist residents on admission, transfer and discharge.
• Safekeep residents’ personal possessions.
• Keep resident rooms neat and safe.
• Follow proper infection control techniques.

Position Overview:

The CNA is a member of the community nursing team whose responsibility is to assist professional nursing personnel by delivering direct hands-on nursing care to ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents on a daily basis. The CNA is also responsible for assisting the residents to achieve the highest level of functioning while living as normal a lifestyle as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• To perform or assist the resident with completing Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
• Respond to residents call lights to provide maximum comfort, safety and privacy.
• Transport residents by ambulation or by wheelchair to areas of community (dining room, lobby and activities).
• Report any significant findings/observations to nurse immediately.
• Assist residents on admission, transfer and discharge to make a smooth transition.
• Responsible for the safekeeping of residents’ personal possessions.
• Keep resident rooms neat and safe.
• Follow proper infection control techniques
• Respect the rights of each resident, particularly privacy and confidentiality.
• Re-teach resident to perform ADL skills.
• Provide restorative care to prevent pressure sores, contractures, and complications.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement and ensures follow-up occurs.
• Converse with resident and family; assist them on adjustment to the community.
• Ensure adequate hydration and nutrition of resident; report deviations from norm to the Charge Nurse promptly.
• Perform blood pressure, pulse, respirations, intake/output and weights accurately.

Qualifications:
