BST SENIOR LIVING WEST INC in San Antonio, Texas is hiring for a full-time role in patient care at Blue Skies Mission. Responsibilities include assisting residents with activities of daily living, promoting a safe environment, and reporting any changes to the Nursing Supervisor.

The ideal candidate is certified with the Texas Nurse Aide Registry and has CPR certification. A valid Texas driver’s license is required, with preference given to those with experience in geriatric care.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Assists, performs, and trains patients/residents in activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, toileting and elimination, and nutritional intake.
• Promotes a safe and clean interior/exterior physical environment and maintains unobstructed pathways while providing care.
• Assists with ambulation, transfers, and/or range of motion exercises.
• Assists with activities of daily living such as light meal preparation, socialization activities, and light homemaking chores related to direct patient care.
• Utilizes infection control measures such as hand washing, standard precautions, and use of personal protective equipment.
• Organizes self to carry out various visits, shifts, and/or tasks.
• Accompanies residents to/from appointments as requested and assigned.
• Reports any concerns or changes in the client’s condition and needs to the Nursing Supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Nursing Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Required: Currently certified and registered with the Texas Nurse Aide Registry.
• Required: Possess current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Required: Valid Texas driver’s license with proof of insurance.
• Preferred: Current AED certification.
• Preferred: Prior experience working with geriatric and/or hospice patients.

Work Schedule

Work schedule normally coincides with one of three standard nursing shifts to allow coverage for a 24/7 operation. Exact duty hours are established by the Director of Nursing, and the Administrator and employees are advised of their schedules in advance.
