BST SENIOR LIVING WEST INC is seeking dedicated staff for a Full Time position at Blue Skies Mission in San Antonio, TX. The role involves assisting residents with activities of daily living and maintaining a safe environment. Candidates must be certified with the Texas Nurse Aide Registry, hold CPR certification, and possess a valid Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Currently certified and registered with the Texas Nurse Aide Registry.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with proof of insurance.
• Current AED certification preferred.
• Prior experience working with geriatric and/or hospice patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists, performs, and trains patients/residents in activities of daily living.
• Promotes safe and clean physical environment while providing care.
• Assists with ambulation, transfers, and/or range of motion exercises.
• Assists with light meal preparation and socialization activities.
• Utilizes infection control measures during care.
• Organizes self to carry out various tasks and visits.
• Accompanies residents to/from appointments as needed.
• Reports any concerns or changes in client’s condition.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Nursing Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Assists, performs, and trains patients/residents in activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, toileting and elimination, and nutritional intake.
• Promotes safe and clean interior/exterior physical environment and maintains unobstructed pathways while providing care.
• Assists with ambulation, transfers, and/or range of motion exercises.
• Assists with activities of daily living such as light meal preparation, socialization activities, and light homemaking chores related to direct patient care.
• Utilizes infection control measures such as hand washing, standard precautions, and use of personal protective equipment.
• Organizes self to carry out various visits, shifts, and/or tasks.
• Accompanies residents to/from appointments as requested and assigned.
• Reports any concerns or changes in the client’s condition and needs to the Nursing Supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Nursing Supervisor.

Work Schedule: Work schedule normally coincides with one of three standard nursing shifts to allow coverage for a 24/7 operation. Exact duty hours are established by the Director of Nursing, and the Administrator and employees are advised of their schedules in advance.
