Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in North Carolina is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant I (CNA I) for a PRN position on a Med-Surg Telemetry unit. You will monitor vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, document changes, and support patient admissions, transfers and discharges.

Requirements include a current CNA I license and completion of an NA course from an accredited school. BLS is required within 30 days of hire; one year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current CNA I license in the state.
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor vital signs and blood sugars.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities and document changes.
  • Measure input/output and patient weights.
  • Assist nurse as needed and respond to call lights.
  • Support patient admission, transfer and discharge processes.
  • Maintain clean patient environment.

Join our team in a 24-bed unit staffed with Registered Nurses (RNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (NAs), and monitor techs. This unit focuses on Pre & Post Cardiac Cath patients with 24-hour cardiac monitoring.

How you'll contribute

ACertified Nursing Assistant I (CNA I),who excels in this role:

  • Monitor vital signs/blood sugars
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living; Document and report abnormal findings or changes in patient condition
  • Measure and document input/output and weights
  • Assist nurse as needed
  • Answer call lights
  • Assist with patient admission, transfer and discharge
  • Provide care appropriate to the condition/age of the patient
  • Distribute drinks and/or snacks
  • Maintain clean and neat patient room and work environment.
  • All other duties as assigned

What we're looking for- a compassionate nursing assistant with an understanding of critical care principles and advanced patient monitoring.


Applicants should have a current state NA I license and completed NA course from an accredited school. Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred
