Job summary

Lifepoint Health, Inc. is seeking a part-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for our Rehabilitation Hospital in Tacoma, WA.

You will deliver basic patient care under nursing supervision, assist with daily living activities, and support clinical procedures to help patients on their rehabilitation journey. The role requires a WA CNA certification, CPR/BCLS, and preferred six months of acute or long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• Current WA Nursing Assistant certification.
• Completed a licensed CNA program.
• Minimum six months experience in an acute or long-term care setting preferred.
• CPR/BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care tasks including bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
• Provide nursing support such as positioning, lifting, turning, and using equipment.
• Assist with toileting needs using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation to the bathroom.
• Record vitals and intake/output accurately and document promptly.
• Prepare patient rooms for admission and transfer, ensuring cleanliness.

How you'll contribute

The rehabilitation Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) atVirginia Mason Franciscan Health Rehabilitation Hospital is responsible for delivering basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff, supporting patients' comfort and assisting with daily living activities and clinical procedures.

Essential Functions

• Perform basic patient care tasks including bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
• Provide general nursing support such as positioning, lifting, turning, and using special equipment.
• Assist with toileting needs using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation to the bathroom.
• Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake/output measurements accurately and document in a timely manner.
• Prepare patient rooms for admission and transfer, ensuring cleanliness and equipment readiness.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment with attention to ventilation and lighting.
• Support patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including handling of patient belongings.
• Answer patient call lights, phones, and pages, responding promptly and appropriately.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience. Completion of a licensed nursing assistant program. Additional requirements include:

• Minimum six months of experience in an acute care or long-term care setting preferred.
• Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant.
• CPR/BCLS certification required.
