Rehabilitation Institute of South San Antonio is seeking a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) to provide essential patient care under nursing supervision. The role includes bathing, mobility assistance, and daily living activities, with attention to patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include recording vital signs, preparing rooms, and responding to calls. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA training, state certification, and CPR/BCLS.

Qualifications

• Licenses: Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant.
• Certifications: CPR/BCLS certification required.
• Experience: Minimum six months in an acute care or long-term care setting preferred.

How you'll contribute

A Certified Nurse Aide CNA who excels in this role is responsible for delivering basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff, supporting patients' comfort and assisting with daily living activities and clinical procedures.

• Perform basic patient care tasks including bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
• Provide general nursing support such as positioning, lifting, turning, and using special equipment.
• Assist with toileting needs using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation to the bathroom.
• Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake/output measurements accurately and document in a timely manner.
• Prepare patient rooms for admission and transfer, ensuring cleanliness and equipment readiness.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment with attention to ventilation and lighting.
• Support patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including handling of patient belongings.
• Answer patient call lights, phones, and pages, responding promptly and appropriately.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

• Education: Required: High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a nursing assistant training course.

Schedule: PRN 12 hr. Nights (7p-7a), includes weekend and holiday shifts
