Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities.
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status.

Responsibilities

• Instructs to achieve state core curriculum content standards and district educational goals with approved curricula and teaching methods.
• Following the district format, develops lesson plans and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt curriculum.
• Sets objectives in lesson preparation and carries through presentation to achieve them.
• Analyzes student data to plan actions, monitor progress, and support growth toward instructional objectives.
• Maintains records of pupil progress and summarizes marks for reporting.
• Identifies pupil needs and collaborates with staff to address learning problems.
• Establishes and maintains classroom behavioral standards.
• Plans class time effectively to maximize instruction.
• Communicates with parents about pupil progress and school programs.
• Creates assignments and tests requiring analytical thinking and recall of facts.
• Plans age-appropriate activities and lessons meeting diverse needs of pupils.
• Supervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities as assigned.
• Maintains professional competence through in-service education and growth activities.
• Participates in school and district planning, meetings, and committees.
• Leverages community resources to enhance instruction.
• Upholds school rules and board policies.
