Job summary

Qualifications

• 1. Valid New Jersey Instructional Certification and/or Subject Matter Specialization Endorsement or eligibility.
• 2. Demonstrates knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities.
• 3. Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
• 4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• 5. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

Responsibilities

• 1. Instructs to achieve state core curriculum content standards and district educational goals and objectives by promoting active learning.
• 2. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized instruction.
• 3. Sets specific objectives in lesson preparation and delivers them.
• 4. Analyzes student data to drive instruction and monitor progress.
• 5. Maintains records of pupil progress for reporting purposes.
• 6. Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with staff to address learning problems.
• 7. Maintains standards of pupil behavior for a positive classroom climate.
• 8. Plans and uses class time effectively to maximize instruction.
• 9. Communicates with parents to discuss pupil progress.
• 10. Designs assignments and tests that require analytical thinking and factual recall.
• 11. Plans age-appropriate activities meeting individual needs and abilities.
• 12. Supervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities as assigned.
• 13. Maintains professional competence through ongoing ed and growth activities.
• 14. Participates in school and district groups and committees.
• 15. Uses community resources to enhance instruction.
• 16. Upholds rules, policies and procedures.
• 17. Maintains appropriate documentation.
• 18. Performs other duties within scope of employment and certification.
