Job summary

Keswick is hiring a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) in Baltimore, MD for a part-time shift (7am-3pm). The CMA administers medications, documents accurately, and monitors residents for side effects under a nurse's supervision.

Required: high school diploma, Maryland CMA program, active CMA certification, CPR & First Aid. Keswick offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to grow within a supportive, award-winning team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a State of Maryland–approved CMA program.
  • Must hold active certification and be in good standing with the Maryland Board of Nursing.
  • CPR & First Aid certification (required) for transitional care & recommended for all units.

Responsibilities

  • Administers medications safely and in accordance with state guidelines and facility policies.
  • Documents medication administration accurately on MAR/eMAR.
  • Observes residents for side effects or adverse reactions and reports promptly.
  • Maintains 5 Rights of Medication Administration and infection control compliance.
  • Promotes resident dignity, autonomy, and appropriate communication with the team.

Keswick is now offering a Sign-on & Stay-on Retention Bonus for a limited time (through June 30, 2026).

Part-Time: Up to $3,000

Part-time 7am-3pm

$19 - $24.25/Hr PLUS Shift/Weekend Differentials!

The Certified Medicine Aide (CMA), under the supervision of a licensed nurse and in alignment with the facility’s nursing philosophy, provides safe, accurate, and compassionate medication administration to assigned residents. The CMA supports holistic, person-centered care, resident rights, CMS regulatory compliance, accurate documentation, and timely reporting of resident needs or medication reactions. CMA contributes to fall prevention, infection control, dementia care, and resident safety while promoting dignity, choice, and quality of life.

What is required in this CMA position?
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a State of Maryland–approved CMA program.
  • Must hold active certification and be in good standing with the Maryland Board of Nursing.
  • CPR & First Aid certification (required) for transitional care & recommended for all units.
What will I do as a CMA?
  • Administers medications safely and in accordance with State of Maryland CMA guidelines, CMS regulations, and facility policies.
  • Documents medication administration accurately on MAR/eMAR.
  • Observes residents for side effects, behavior changes, swallowing issues, increased confusion, or ADRs and reports immediately.
  • Ensures 5 Rights of Medication Administration
  • Promotes resident dignity, choice, and autonomy.
  • Assists with noninvasive treatments, vital signs, and hydration reminders per nurse instruction.
  • Maintains infection control & PPE compliance.
  • Participates in fall prevention strategies & behavioral monitoring.
  • Maintains professional communication with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Report suspected diversion, medication errors, near misses, or unsafe practices.
