Certified Medication Technician

Compensation: $21.63 - $24.03 / hour

Job Summary

The Certified Medication Technician is responsible for administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with activities of daily living under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role ensures compliance with medication protocols and participates in audits, training, and performance improvement activities. The technician documents medication administration and patient observations accurately while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality standards. They assist in training new staff, attend team meetings, support overall clinical operations, handle equipment, manage supplies, and float to various patient care areas as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and assist with activities of daily living under RN supervision
• Monitor and document patient vitals, symptoms, and behavior; report abnormalities
• Participate in audits, training sessions, and staff onboarding processes
• Maintain medication supplies, medical equipment, and ensure regulatory compliance
• Float between units, assist team members, and uphold HIPAA confidentiality standards

Qualifications & Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
• 1-year related experience in a medical environment preferred
• Must be certified as a Medication Technician in the state within which services are provided
• Current CPR certification
• Must maintain SRNA certification
• Full-time/day shift position
• Active CMA I and SRNA license registered with the KY Board of Nursing
